Hastings Students Conduct Study Of Hudson River HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Hastings High School teachers Marc Zelmanowicz and Melissa Shandroff took their Advanced Placement environmental science students to the Hudson River to participate in the Day in the Life of the Hudson River on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The event was coordinated by the state Department of Environmental Conservation and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University.  Each fall, schools along the Hudson River create a day-in-the-life picture of the river from the Troy Dam to New York Harbor. East Ramapo School Board Picks Charles-Pierre For Vacancy SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. – Sabrina Charles-Pierre, an unsuccessful school board candidate, has been named to a vacancy on the East Ramapo Board of Education, according to a report in LoHud.com.
