Learn Archery In Dutchess County Weekend Sessions WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- The Dutchess County Parks Department is offering archery lessons for children and adults with any level of experience.  The next lesson will take place Saturday, Oct. 24, in the auditorium located at Bowdoin Park, 85 Sheafe Road, Wappingers Falls.  The first session will be a review of basic archery safety and skills for those who may not have attended in the past. Mount Vernon Deal To Replace Streetlights Draws Criticism MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A contract to replace more than 4,000 Mount Vernon streetlights has raised questions about the legality of the deal, according to a report in LoHud.com.  Former city Public Works Commissioner Terrence Horton signed a deal with a South Korean firm for LED lights six months before the city asked for a replacement plan, LoHud reported.  City Council candidate Andre Wallace says the deal signed by Horton, who owes the city several thousand dollars in back taxes, amounts to bid rigging, according to LoHud.  To read the full report, click here.

Road Resurfacing On Route 1 In Norwalk Begins Monday NORWALK, Conn. -- The Connecticut Department of Transportation next week will begin resurfacing the roadway on Route 1 between the Interstate 95 Exit 14 intersection and Fairfield Avenue.Work will begin Monday and will take about two weeks, weather permitting, DOT said. Funeral For Yonkers Slaying Victim Michael Nolan Draws Large Crowd YONKERS, N.Y. -- The funeral Thursday for slain Yonkers athlete Michael Nolan drew a standing-room-only crowd and an emotional response from his family, according to reports.
