Yorktown Native's Killer Gets Stay Of Execution
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The execution of a man convicted of slaying a Yorktown woman and her boyfriend in 1988 has been stayed, according to a report in LoHud.com.
Alfredo Rolando Prieto, a native of El Salvador, was convicted of three murders in California and Virginia, including that of Rachael Raver, LoHud.com reported.
Prieto had been scheduled to be executed Thursday night, but a federal judge in Virginia, postponed the action pending a hearing on the types of drugs to be used in the execution, according to LoHud.com.

Peekskill Police Arrest Four After Underage Alcohol Sting
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill police officers conducting alcohol compliance checks arrested four people Friday in separate incidents. Detectives John Merritt and Ralph D’Aliso, working with two underage agents, attempted to purchase alcohol from 13 licensed establishments in the city. While nine of these establishments refused to sell to the underage agent, four did not, and the clerks were subsequently arrested.
Arrested were:
Ruth Carillo, 41, of Peekskill, a clerk at Garfield Deli at 675 Highland Ave.
Shane Williams, 30, of Peekskill, a clerk at Valentine Deli at 943 Second St.
