Flag Football Pro Bowl Benefits Harrison Apar Foundation
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- The 2016 Apar Pro Bowl will take place at Navajo Fields on Saturday, April 2 starting at 9 a.m.The tournament, a series of seven on seven games, will raise funds to assist the Harrison Apar Foundation in their efforts to improve education. Teams will compete for a first place cash prize of $1000 as well as free entry into Yorkville Sports Association’s upcoming Turkey Bowl and 2017 Pro Bowl. PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Six Pleasantville Middle School eighth graders were recognized for theirentries in the 2016 Eighth-Grade Writing Contest, an annual event formerly sponsored by the Marmaduke Writing Factory and now under the aegis of published author Joe Wallace and The Village Bookstore. Woman’s Club Of White Plains Cooks for Grace Church Soup Kitchen
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Another annual tradition and one more of the ‘’100 Acts of Kindness” took place recently at the Woman’s Club of White Plains. Each spring, club members get together to cook trays of food for the Grace Church Community Center, now known as Lifting Up Westchester. Trays of baked ziti, rice and beans and, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, corned beef and cabbage were prepared and delivered to the Grace Church soup kitchen.
