Tuckahoe Residents Enjoy First Week Of Spring In Manhattan
TUCKAHOE, N.Y. -- Residents of The Fountains at RiverVue wasted no time getting outdoors to enjoy the first week of spring. On the first Tuesday of the season, a group of residents enjoyed an escorted trip into Manhattan, where they visited Rockefeller Center, watched skaters and stopped by The Metropolitan Museum of Art store for a preview of their museum visit next month. PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Field Library is hosting events celebrating poetry month every Wednesday during April.Ron Egatz will appear on Wednesday, April 6. Egatz is a winner of the Glimmer Train Poetry award and the Greenburgh Poetry Award. On April 13, the library will feature Andre "Noodle Noo" Rainey. Cousins Honored For Rescuing Men From Burning Boat In Long Island Sound
STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Stratford man and his cousin have been awarded Carnegie Hero medals for rescuing the crew of a burning clam boat in Long Island Sound off the coast of Milford in 2014. Richard G. Williams and Anthony F. DellaMonica Jr., rescued Edward S. Popadic and another man from burning June 7, 2014. Popadic, 61, and two deckhands were working on a 40-foot clam boat in Long Island Sound, about a mile off shore, when fire broke out in the boat’s cabin and grew quickly. International Day Immerses Briarcliff Students
BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- Briarcliff Middle School students were immersed in cultures from around the world during the school’s International Day. Workshops and stations were set up throughout the school, giving students the chance to learn about different countries while participating in activities.
