Bronxville Public Library Art Contest Encourages Student Entries
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- In honor of National Library Week, April 10-16, the Bronxville Public Library is sponsoring an art contest to promote library use and support. Children and teens are invited to create works of art that incorporate one of six pre-selected quotes about reading. The theme is “Libraries Are Inspirational.” Artists may use any medium or style — collage, painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, etc.

Subzero Heroes Beats Fundraising Goal In Fight Against Alzheimer's
HIGHLAND, N.Y. -- Icy temperatures and brutal winds on Saturday failed to halt the sixth annual Subzero Heroes fundraiser for the Poughkeepsie-based Alzheimer's Association of the Hudson Valley on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Berean Park in Highland. The event made in excess of $122,000, surpassing its goal by $22,000. Ulster County Sheriff Paul VanBlarcum’s team was the top fundraiser, gathering $20,366 for the fight against Alzheimer’s.
