Redding Steps Up Road Reconstruction Work REDDING, Conn. -- Road reconstruction has begun on Picketts Ridge Road, according to the Redding Highway Department. The Highway Department will also be working on Apple Lane, Parsons Lane, Goodsell Hill Road and Lee Lane.  This work is being done as part of the four-year road reconstruction project. The paving of these roads is scheduled to be completed in mid-October.

He was 54. DePalma had been an art teacher at Rogers Park Middle School in Danbury for over 30 years. In 2006, he was awarded Teacher of the Year for his dedication to his students.  His passion for art extended beyond the classroom. DePalma was known for his drama set designs and for decorating the school. AAA: Connecticut, US Gas Prices Continue Their Decline STAMFORD, Conn. -- As of Monday, Connecticut’s average gas price of $2.22 has dropped 2 cents compared with this time last week. Compared with last month, average prices are 52 cents lower. Nationally, the average price of $2.12 remained the same compared with last week but is down 55 cents compared with this time last year. Connecticut has also moved down one spot – from 14th to 15th place on the list of states with the highest gas prices.  Plentiful supplies and lower crude costs are the primary reasons for the decline. Red Cross Recruits Volunteers In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Red Cross will host a new volunteer orientation at the American Red Cross Bridgeport office at 158 Brooklawn Ave. on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.  Last year, the American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island region responded to more than 800 local incidents, including fires, power outages, hazardous material releases, transportation accidents and storms.
