Chappaqua Central Schools Names New Superintendent CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The Chappaqua Central School District has decided on its next superintendent. The Board of Education said late Tuesday night that pending a site visit, Christine Ackerman will be appointed to the post at the May 3 school board meeting. Ackerman is currently superintendent of the Greenwood Lake School District in Orange County.  She previously was Dean of Students at John Jay High School and Vice Principal of Valhalla Middle School/High School. Putnam Service Dogs Unveil First Puppies The puppies at Putnam Service Dogs in Brewster are ready to go to work.Putnam Service Dogs introduced its first three puppies that will begin training to become service dogs. The puppies all came from high kill shelters and were adopted from local rescue groups. The first classes begin Thursday. Plans For Wegmans Supermarket Move Forward In Harrison HARRISON, N.Y. -- Wegmans is one step closer to being Harrison's next supermarket. The Harrison Planning Board is expected to vote Tuesday night to allow Wegmans, which will be located at 106-110 Corporate Park Drive, near the I-684/I-287 junction, to skip a full environmental review process. The project was first announced last December. The town board is expected to vote on a zoning change for the project on May 5.  Wegmans, which was founded 100 years ago, currently has 92 stores in the Northeast. Developers Threaten $50 Million Lawsuit Against Mount Kisco MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- A dispute involving the development of senior housing in Mount Kisco, has one side threatening a $50 million lawsuit against the village. HFZ Capital, the firm looking to build 129 units of senior housing on Kisco Avenue, is frustrated a contract has not been signed given them the option of buying the 17.7 acres from the town for $4 million. The village unanimously approved the option at the March 13 board meeting.
