The man was struck by the car at East Jersey and Spring Street, Ruby Contreras, public information officer for the city, said. The vehicle fled the scene, Contreras said. Multiple lanes are shut down, Contreras said. The man's condition is unknown, Contreras said.

Recently, state trooper Michael Betz rescued a dog that fell through the ice in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey State police said on Facebook.  Betz was on his way into the New Jersey State Police Lake Hopatcong substation when he noticed Georgy stuck out on the ice, police said.
