Fire Ravages Hunterdon County Barn: Firefighters A barn caught fire in Kingwood Township on Monday, March 11, authorities said. At 1:46 p.m., firefighters in Kingwood responded to the fire off County Route 519, Kingwood Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 said on Facebook. The fire began in the wall of the barn, firefighters said. Workers on the scene were able to safely evacuate animals from the barn, firefighters said. The homeowner and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, firefighters said.

22-Year-Old Newark Man Gunned Down: Prosecutor A 22-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, March 7, authorities said. At 7 p.m., Newark police responded to a report of shots fired on the 400 block of 14th Avenue,  Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. Man Killed In Route 78 Crash: Coroner A 64-year-old New York driver was killed in a crash on Route 78 in Warren County, New Jersey on Sunday, March 10, authorities said. At 5:43 p.m., Carmen Berretta, of Albany, NY, collided with another vehicle on Route 78 eastbound in Pohatcong Township, the Lehigh County, PA Coroner's Office said.  Berretta was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA where he died of his injuries at 10:04 p.m., the coroner's office said.  The coroner's office and New Jersey State Police are investigating the crash.
