Newark Man Gets Eight Years For Killing 31-Year-Old Hillside Man: Prosecutors A 33-year-old Newark man was sentenced to eight years in prison on Friday, Jan. 26 after being convicted of fatally shooting a 31-year-old Hillside man in 2021, authorities said. On July 22, 2021 at 10 p.m., Hillside police responded to the 1400 block of North Broad Street and found Steven Zimmerman suffering from a fatal gunshot wound, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Hillside Police Department Officer in Charge. College Student Gets 10 Years For Stabbing Mom Dead In Rahway Home A 26-year-old Rahway woman was sentenced to 10 years in state prison on Friday, Jan. 26 after being found guilty of fatally stabbing her mother on in Feb. 2020 authorities said. Malika Jones was sentenced after being convicted of aggravated manslaughter, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Rahway Police Director Nicholas Breiner said. Morris County Man Killed In NY Snowmobile Crash: Police A 56-year-old Kinnelon man was killed in a snowmobile crash in upstate New York on the early morning of Wednesday, Jan. 31, authorities said. Kelly Rozansky was traveling west on a snowmobile trail when he lost control of his 2021 Ski-Doo snowmobile, striking a tree, Ronald Johnson, the police chief for the Town of Webb, said. Members of his party found him deceased soon after and first responders arrived at 12:40 a.m., Johnson said. Johnson said speed was a contributing factor in the crash.

Newark Man Convicted Of Murder After Shooting 31-Year-Old Victim Eight Times: Prosecutors A 31-year-old Newark man was convicted of first degree murder on Friday, Jan. 26 for a drive-by shooting in 2019, authorities said. On May 13, 2019, Kenneth Thomas, a 31-year-old Newark resident was gunned down by Ryan Mwangi eight times while sitting in his car, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. Attempted Homicide: Juveniles Arrested In Hoboken Shooting, Police Say Two juveniles were arrested and charged on Thursday, Jan. 25 for a November shooting in Hoboken, authorities said.
