An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Jackpot! Passaic County Lotto Players Win Big It was a lucky Monday for two lottery players in Passaic County and a lottery player in Hunterdon County. Three lucky tickets matched all five numbers drawn splitting the $533,055 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot drawn on Monday, Oct. 2. Each ticket is worth $177,685. Gas Main Break Shuts Down Traffic On NJ-124 (Developing) A gas main break on NJ-124 westbound has closed all lanes on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The break occurred near Seaman Street in Madison at 10:56 a.m., according the New Jersey DOT. As of 1 p.m. all lanes were closed.

Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Linden: Police A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Linden on Monday, Oct. 2 authorities said. The victim, who has not been identified, was crossing E. St. George Avenue from the Roselle Street side when he was struck by an SUV traveling eastbound, Linden police said. The victim was transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounced deceased, police said. Teterboro Airport Noise Persists: Newly-Formed Group Pushes FAA For Alternate Flight Path Residents who live near Teterboro Airport have had enough with the noise. More than 840 people in the Pascack Valley region, who have formed the group Taxpayers for Airport Noise Solutions, have signed a petition requesting the FAA to change the flight plans for flights into Teterboro Airport Runway 19, by having them fly over Route 17. $50K Lotto Ticket Sold In Hudson County One of three Powerball tickets good for $50,000 was sold in Hudson County. The ticket from the Saturday, Sept. 30 drawing was sold at J & L $.99 Cents & Up on Ocean Avenue in Jersey City. The winning numbers were 19, 30, 37, 44, and 46. West New York Helps Woman Seriously Injured After Pinned By Van Iris Flores has had five surgeries since she was pinned by a reversing van on Wednesday, Sept. 6. The incident caused multiple fractures on her pelvic bone, spine, hips and legs, along with other internal wounds. Flores faces future surgeries and will undergo physical therapy.
