Bye, Bye, Bischoff's: Popular Teaneck Ice Cream Shop To Shutter Just After Hopeful Revival It really was too good to be true. Bischoff's, the Teaneck ice cream institution, had reopened this summer as a pop-up after closing in 2022. On Tuesday, Aug. 22, the longtime Cedar Lane shop said it will close permanently on Sunday, Sept. 3 after nearly 90 years in business. "We can't begin to express how painful this decision is for us," the confectionery wrote on social media. "Five generations of our family have treasured our role in this community." Middle Finger Traffic Stop: Viral Video Sparks Investigation In North Jersey Town It's become the middle finger seen around the world. A traffic stop on Westfield is under investigation after a man said he was pulled over after flipping off a police officer. The traffic stop was recorded on Sunday, Aug. 6 and shared on YouTube where it has generated more than 370,000 views. Jersey City Man Had Cocaine, Heroin With Kids In Home: Prosecutors A 38-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and hit with numerous drug charges on Friday, August 18, after police found him in possession of cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, authorities said. Agarah, 29, was playing soccer on Sunday, Aug. 6 — a game in which he scored a goal — when he fell and started gasping for breath, according to a campaign launched by loved ones. Police Seek ID Of Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Prince George's County Police are seeking the identity of a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash in Prince George's County on Sunday, Aug. 20, authorities said. At 3:15 a.m., the pedestrian was found in the roadway in the 2000 block of University Boulevard in Adelphia, the Prince George's County Police Department said. 'This Is Us' Star Ron Cephas Jones, Of Paterson, Dies At 66 Ron Cephas Jones, a Paterson native who won two Emmys for his role on "This is Us", died on Sunday, Aug. 19 at the age of 66. Jones attended John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson and graduated from Ramapo College. He starred in movies like "He Got Game," "Sweet and Lowdown" and "Across the Universe" and guest starred on "Law and Order," "NYPD Blue" and "Mr. Robot."
