Traffic Enforcement Officer Suffers Fractured Hip In Jersey City Crash With SUV: Authorities A Jersey City traffic enforcement officer suffered a fractured hip when the scooter she was riding was struck by an SUV on Tuesday, Aug. 15, authorities said. The officer was traveling west on Lexington Avenue crossing the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard when she was hit by the SUV heading south, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. At 11 a.m., Rahway police responded to the 2000 block of Elizabeth Avenue and met with a woman who said she had been sexually assaulted by Finis, who entered her residence unlawfully, Union County Prosecutor William A. The convenience store celebrated the opening of its new 5,868 square-foot store at 235 Route 10 East in East Hanover on Tuesday, Aug. 15. As part of the grand opening celebration, QuickChek is giving away one free cup of coffee per customer, per day, for 7 days to QuickChek Rewards members at the East Hanover store. Maui Wildfire: Essex County Native Helping Family Impacted Nicole Conway's niece and her family were one of the many people impacted by the wildfires in Maui, Hawaii. Conway, a Belleville resident, has created a fundraiser to assist her niece and several other family members who reside on the island. As of Tuesday, August 15, $525 has been raised. Conway said her entire family is safe but they lost their home and belongings and currently staying with someone else. "They currently don't have much cell service and need everything to restart their lives," Conway said.

Now Westfield is helping out one of its own. A fundraiser has been created for West, who has lived in Lahaina since 2019. As of Tuesday, August 15, $12,575 has been raised.
