Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

DPW Worker Survives Lightning Strike In Central Jersey A 39-year-old worker for the Woodbridge Department of Public Works survived a lightning strike, authorities said. He was working on a soccer field at Iselin Middle School during the Wednesday, June 14 strike. Police Officer R.J. McPartland, a certified EMT, was at a nearby school when the emergency was called in. McPartland arrived within minutes and restored the man’s pulse, township officials said. The DPW worker was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition, they said.

Motorcyclist ID'd In Fatal South Jersey Crash: Police Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in.a collision with a flatbed truck in Atlantic County. Vincent Sanborn IV, 49, of Egg Harbor Township died in the collision, police said. The crash occurred at 9:20 a.m. Monday, June 12 on Bethel Road several hundred feet west of Route 9, Somers Point police said. The motorcyclist collided into the side of a MAC flatbed carrier truck, police said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the crash scene.  The truck driver was not injured. The collision remains under investigation.
