Car Carrier Slams Into CSX Train In Haverstraw This story has been updated. HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- A car carrier collided with a CSX train on Wednesday at Route 9W and New Main Street in Haverstraw. Funeral Services Set For Couple Killed In Yorktown House Fire YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Funeral arrangement have been set for the elderly couple who perished during a fire at their Yorktown Heights home on Monday. Jeffrey and Helen Ginman died after being trapped in the early-morning fire. Jeffrey would have been 75 on April 30, Helen was 70. They both were longtime residents of Yorktown, having lived for there almost 50 years. Jeffrey Ginman worked as the national account manager for Energizer Batteries, working his way up from salesman. Paraglider, 44, Killed In Taconic State Park Accident ID'd This story has been updated. A paraglider who crashed into Brace Mountain in North East, Dutchess around 2 p.m. on Tuesday and died from his injuries has been identified as Varick Stringham, 44, of Claverack in Columbia County, said New York State Park Police. Route 304 Reopens In Nanuet Following Garbage Truck Fire ROCKLAND COUNTY N.Y. -- Route 34 in Nanuet has reopened following a fire that heavily damaged a garbage truck around 8 a.m. Wednesday, said Nanuet Battalion Chief Nicholas Pata. Pata said a cause for the fire that engulfed the truck in flames has not been determined. No was injured during the event, and firefighters were able to douse the flames and reopen the busy roadway within an hour, he added.

Hang-Glider Dies In Brace Mountain Accident In New York A hang-glider who crashed into Brace Mountain in North East, Dutchess County at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday died from his injuries, according to Millerton Fire Company Chief Keith Roger. Roger said the unidentified man lost control of his hang-glider and crashed on top of the mountain. Police Search For Woman Accused Of Cashing Forged Checks In Pleasant Valley DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police are asking for the public's help in locating a woman wanted for cashing forged checks in Pleasant Valley last year. Stephanie Sharps, 26, is wanted by both the state police and the Town of Pleasant Valley Court after she failed to show up in court on charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny, state police said.
