Two Injured, Including DWI Driver, In Ramapo Crash RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Pomona man who ran a red light causing a two-car crash early Thursday, injuring himself and two others, was driving drunk, according to the Ramapo Police. The unidentified 26-year-old was charged with DWI and issued a ticket for running a red light after officers responded to the intersection of East Eckerson Road and Rockland Lane around 12:38 a.m. for a motor vehicle crash with injuries, police said. Ramapo Police Revive Woman, 26, After Overdose RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police saved another resident on Tuesday by using the anti-opioid drug Naloxone when they found a resident who had overdosed on drugs. The save took place around 12:20 a.m. when an officer responded to a Hillcrest home for a report of a 26-year-old female unresponsive and not breathing, police said. Two Charged With Selling Counterfeit Merchandise At Nyack Street Fair Two street vendors were caught selling counterfeit goods at the Nyack Street Fair on Sunday, according to Orangetown Police. Ross Biernick, 50, of Poughquag, and Bencilla Powell, 60, of Hillside, N.J., were charged with trademark counterfeiting after officers observed them selling the fake goods, police said. Andrew Cuomo's much-heralded free college tuition program was signed into law on Wednesday, but it came with a bit of an unexpected hitch for many: Students receiving the assistance must agree to stay in New York for at least four years following graduation.
