Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Long Island Expressway Stretch Reopens After Serious Crash Click here for an updated story - Woman, 35, Killed In Crash That Caused Hours-Long LI Expressway Closure A stretch of the Long Island Expressway has reopened after a serious crash. The closure, reported just after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, was in Suffolk County on the westbound side at Exit 53 in Hauppauge. Wind Advisory: Gusts Of Up To 55 MPH Could Cause Power Outages The passage of a cold front is bringing Arctic air and strong winds with gusts up to 55 miles per hour that could cause power outages. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire region until 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. Winds are out of the northwest of about 20 to 25 miles per hour with gusts of 40 to 55 mph. Scattered downed tree limbs and power lines are possible, the National Weather Service said in a Hazardous Weather Outlook statement. Covid-19: Long Island HS Closes For 10 Days Due To Exposure A Long Island high school will be closed for the next 10 days due to COVID-19 exposure. Due to the high number of instructional staff that were quarantined by the department of health last week, Shoreham-Wading River High School will be closed for in-person learning through Wednesday, Nov. 11, the district announced. Distance learning will be in effect for all high school students. The high school will re-open for in-person learning on Thursday, Nov. 12, the district said.

Covid-19: Westchester HS Extends Closure After Cases Linked To Social Event A high school in Northern Westchester has extended its closure for in-person learning after several cases of COVID-19 linked to a social event. Dr. Jen Lamia, Superintendent of Schools for the Byram Hills Central School District in Armonk, announced on Sunday, Nov. 1 that Byram Hills High School will remain on remote instruction until Thursday, Nov. 12. Several Residences Burst Into Flames After Possible Explosion At Long Island Home A possible explosion at a Long Island home ignited a fire that quickly spread to adjacent residences. At around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 in Meadowmere Park, located in Lawrence, authorities received a report of a house fire with an explosion at 3 South St. Upon arrival by emergency responders, the residence was fully engulfed in flames, with two adjacent homes, at 1 South Street and 5 South Street, on fire as well, according to authorities. The positive testing rate in all focus areas under the state's Micro-Cluster strategy is 3.10 percent, and outside the focus zone areas is 1.36 percent. Silver Alert Issued For Girl Who's Gone Missing In Fairfield County A Silver Alert has been issued after a 12-year-old girl went missing in Fairfield County. Evelyn Santos-Oliveira was last seen on Saturday, Oct. 31 at her residence in Bridgeport, police said. She is 5-foot-5, 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. The photo above of Santos-Oliveira wearing a brown coat is the most recent image of her, Bridgeport Police said.
