Transformer Fire Closes Part Of Busy Roadway In Hudson Valley: Developing A blaze has caused part of a busy Hudson Valley route to close in both directions. In Putnam County, Route 312 in the town of Southeast is closed to traffic in both directions at the intersection with Interstate 84 late Monday morning, Sept. 25, according to reports. The closure was caused by a transformer fire in the area. More information about the blaze has not yet been released. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Bronx River Parkway Exit Reopens In Eastchester After Year-Long Project A long-term project that caused lane and exit closures on a busy parkway in Westchester has finally been completed. The Leewood Drive exit on the Bronx River Parkway in Eastchester has fully reopened to traffic following a bridge rehabilitation project that began in July 2022, Westchester County Legislator James Nolan announced on Wednesday, Sept. 20. Meats, Pokemon Cards Taken From CT Stop & Shop Location, Police Say Authorities are asking for help in identifying two men who allegedly stole various items, including over $500 worth of Pokemon cards, from a Stop & Shop supermarket in Connecticut. Fleeing Truck Thief Caught In Neighborhood With Help Of K9 Officer In Purchase: Police After leading authorities on a chase that ended in a crash, a pickup truck thief wearing a bright yellow jumpsuit was caught in a Westchester neighborhood with the help of a K9 officer's nose, police said. The incident began on Thursday, Sept. 14 around 6:15 p.m., when authorities were notified that a stolen Ford F350 pickup truck was traveling on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison. Lane Closures To Slow Traffic On Cross County Parkway In Eastchester For Several Nights Traffic on a busy parkway in Westchester will soon be affected by a series of planned overnight lane closures. Two lanes in both directions of the Cross County Parkway in Eastchester between Exit 8 (State Route 22) and the Hutchinson River Parkway will close nightly between Sunday, Sept. 24, and Thursday, Sept. 28, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The closures will be put into effect from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. The lane closures will allow for construction work, officials said.

Man Nabbed For Possessing Several Firearms, Ghost Gun In New Rochelle: Police A 58-year-old Westchester man faces charges for illegally possessing numerous firearms, including a ghost gun, police said. New Rochelle resident Paul Pisani, age 58, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 21 following an investigation conducted by New Rochelle Police, the Westchester County Police Conditions Unit, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, according to New Rochelle Police Captain J. Crews Cut Off Door To Free Crash Victim Near Parkway In Valhalla A driver had to be freed from their vehicle following a crash near a parkway in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Wednesday, Sept. 20 around 6 a.m., when emergency crews in Valhalla responded to a crash on Grasslands Road near the Sprain Brook Parkway off-ramp. Scam Alert: Callers Falsely Posing As 'Westchester Sheriff,' Police Say Authorities in Westchester are warning residents of a scam involving callers falsely posing as police and claiming that there is a warrant out for the arrest of the victim.
