Hudson Valley Woman Accused Of Setting House On Fire A Hudson Valley woman has been arrested for allegedly setting a house on fire that displaced a family. The Rockland County incident took place on Wednesday at a home in the village of Airmont. The fire was quickly extinguished by Tallman Fire Department with mutual aid from firefighters from: Hillcrest Monsey Sloatsburg Spring Valley Mahwah No one was injured during the fire, which is believed to have been started intentionally, said Det. Severed Deer Head Found In Driveway Of Home Of New Canaan Town Official Police in Fairfield County are investigating after a severed deer head was left in a town official’s driveway. New Canaan Police confirmed that the head was found just before 3 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 27, but have released few other details, including the town official's identity. “At this time, we are investigating this incident,” New Canaan Police Lt. ‘Trusted Lieutenant’ Of Sarah Lawrence College Sex-Cult Leader Admits To Conspiracy A former Westchester County college student who fell under the spell of convicted sex-cult leader Larry Ray has pleaded guilty to conspiring to launder money for his illegal dealings. NY School District Responds To Teacher's Allegations Following Firing A teacher from the region who was let go is making waves with allegations that he was let go for being a friend and ally to the school's LGBTQ community. The incident began playing out in public in Suffolk County on Long Island when Smithtown High School East teacher Josh Tilton claimed on Instagram that he was denied tenure because of his beliefs. New Details: 1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured In Head-On Hudson Valley Crash, State Police Say This story has been updated. One person was killed and another seriously injured during a head-on crash in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Dutchess County around 5:50 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley. Troopers responded to Route 44 near Brown Road for a report of a head-on collision. Suspect Nabbed For Carjacking, Assault At Gas Station In Stratford Police have apprehended a man wanted for months following a carjacking and assault at a gas station in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Stratford on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at the Citgo gas station located on Main Street. According to Capt. Frank Eannotti, of the Stratford Police, the victim left her vehicle running with the driver's door slightly ajar while getting gas. Silver Alert Issued For 2-Year-Old CT Girl Who's Been Missing For 3 Days Police in Connecticut have issued a Silver Alert for a 2-year-old girl who has not been seen in three days. Melody Bookert, of New Haven County in Hamden, was last seen in the area of Ridge Road on Sunday, Sept. 4. Hamden Police are asking anyone who may see or know of her whereabouts to contact them at 203-230-4000. Callers may remain anonymous. More Than 500 Stung By Jellyfish On 2 Nearby NY Beaches More than 500 people were stung by jellyfish over the holiday weekend when thousands of the sea animals athered along the shore break at Long Island beaches. The majority of those stung were in Suffolk County at Robert Moses Beach Park in Babylon where thousands were spotted along the shoreline on Sunday, Sept. 4, according to George Gorman, of New York State Parks Department.
