She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Truck Loses Control, Crashing Into Long Island Home A Long Island man was nabbed for DWI after driving his pickup truck through a home and out the other side onto a neighboring property. The incident took place in Westbury around 12:45 a.m., Thursday, May 12. According to police, Suffolk County resident Blas Flores-Velasquez, age 42, of Brentwood, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck on Cypress Lane when he drove through a residence, occupied by three people, and out the other side onto a neighboring property. Man Rescued From Bethel Trench Collapse By Rescuers Who Dug By Hand A worker is in serious condition after being buried up to his neck in a trench collapse that had rescuers digging by hand at times to save the man. The incident took place in Northern Fairfield County around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 in Bethel on Budd Drive in the Stony Hill district. Stony Hill firefighters arrived on the scene and found a man buried up to his chin in a 13-15 foot trench that had collapsed, said Assistant Chief Patrick Magyar, of the Stony Hill Fire Department. Assault During Argument Leads To Westport Man's Arrest, Police Say A Fairfield County man was charged with assault after allegedly attacking two people during an argument. The incident took place in Westport, around 9:15 a.m., on Sunday, April 10. Akhmad Nasution, age 50, of Westport, turned himself in to police on Tuesday, May 10, and was charged with disorderly conduct, said Lt. David Wolf, of the Westport Police. An investigation into the incident found that Nasution assaulted two individuals during an argument, Wolf said. Nasution was held on a $5,000 bond.

Bullied Young Bridgeport Burn Victim Gets Hero's Welcome At Yankees Game A 6-year-old Connecticut boy who was burned by a gasoline ball by alleged bullies was treated to a day at Yankee Stadium and met with team players. Scammer, Robbery Suspect Nabbed In Stratford Police in Fairfield County are warning people who sell items online to use care when making the sale in person after a recent robbery. The robbery took place in Stratford on Saturday, April 23 when the victim placed an ad on Facebook Marketplace to sell an iPhone. Girl, 10, Headed For Ice Cream Truck Struck By Car On Long Island A 10-year-old Long Island girl was seriously injured after being hit by a car as she pedaled her bike to an ice cream truck.
