Man Critically Injured After Being Hit By Car In Freeport A man suffered critical injuries after being struck by a car along a Long Island roadway. The crash occurred in Nassau County around 8 p.m., Sunday, March 20, on Sunrise Highway near South Main Street in Freeport. According to detectives, a 66-year-old man was driving westbound in a white 2020 Subaru Forester, when he struck the 49-year old male pedestrian. As a result of the collision, the man suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Nassau County Police said. He is listed in critical condition. Two Schools In Hudson Valley Go Remote After Social Media Threats Two schools in the Hudson Valley have moved to remote learning following a social media threat. Both Poughkeepsie Middle School and Poughkeepsie High School will be operating on a remote learning schedule on Monday, March 21, due to the social media threat made against both schools, according to a message on the district's website. CT Man Accused Of Inappropriately Texting, Touching Child A Connecticut man has been arrested for allegedly inappropriately texting and touching a 12-year-old child. New Haven County resident Gavin Gratta, 39, of Meriden, was arrested on Friday, March 11, following an investigation of a sexual offense complaint, said the Meriden Police Department.
