26-Year-Old Airlifted After Fall From Conveyor Belt In Melville Police are investigating an industrial accident that seriously injured a Long Island man. Nassau County resident, Timothy Baumann, age 26, of Merrick, injured his arm after falling off a conveyor belt at Rason Asphalt, located at 136 Spagnoli Road, in Melville, at 8 a.m., Friday, March 11. Baumann was airlifted by helicopter to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment of serious injuries, said the Suffolk County Police. Eighth-Grader With BB Gun At School Charged In Hudson Valley A Dutchess County middle school student has been arrested for allegedly bringing a BB gun to school despite enhanced procedures. The student was charged on Thursday, March 10 at Poughkeepsie Middle School, said Irwin Goldberg, the public information officer for the Poughkeepsie School District. ID Released For School Bus Monitor Killed In Hudson Valley Crash Involving Patrol Vehicle The identity of a school bus monitor who was killed in a crash with a New York State Police vehicle in the Hudson Valley has been released. Dutchess County resident Robin P. Alvarez, age 59, of East Fishkill, was killed during the crash that took place around 3:15 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 on Route 55 and South Cross Road in LaGrange. Police Release New Info On Oceanside Smoke Shop Robbery, Shooting Police have released new info and photos as they seek to identify a suspect who robbed a Long Island smoke shop and shot an employee. The incident took place in Nassau County around 3:20 p.m., Sunday, March 6 at the Da Smoke Spot, in Oceanside.
