Man Accused Of Choking, Assaulting Woman At Fairfield County Train Station, Police Say
DNA from a cigarette has led to the arrest of a Fairfield County man for allegedly robbing and attempting to sexually assault a woman at an area train station.
Ivan Burgos, age 36, of Bridgeport, was arrested Saturday, Feb. 5, for the incident which took place on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021.
According to MTA police, the New York woman had taken a train to visit friends in Bridgeport. While waiting for a return train later that night at the station, she went outside to have a cigarette.

Former Fairfield County Police Officer Arrested For Faking Traffic Stops, Police Say
A former police officer has been arrested for alleged computer crimes and forgery for faking traffic stops in Fairfield County.
Edgar Gonzalez, age 31, of Stamford, turned himself in to Norwalk Police on Tuesday, Feb. 8 on a warrant obtained by Norwalk detectives.
According to Sgt. Sofia Gulino, of the Norwalk Police Department, in April of 2021, the department received a complaint from a motorist who was notified of having been being involved in a traffic stop, which, according to the driver had never occurred.

A Long Island home health aide has been arraigned on manslaughters charges for allegedly hitting a man in her care in the head and letting him bleed to death.
Suffolk County resident Gail Godwin, age 62, of Bay Shore, was indicted on Monday, Feb. 7, on charges that included second-degree manslaughter and assault, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly.
Godwin pleaded not guilty and bail was continued at $150,000 cash, $200,000 bond, or $2 million partially secured bond, the DA's Office said.

Hudson Valley Man Pleads Guilty In Child Starvation Death Case
A Hudson Valley man has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in connection with the starvation death of his 7-year-old son.
Orange County resident Arturo Cuacuas, age 54, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 2, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
