Deer Rescued From Icy Waters In Suffolk County Using an ice sled and lines, police rescued a deer that had fallen through the ice on a Long Island bay.  The incident began around 4:18 p.m., when a Smith Point Park Ranger reported a deer stuck in the ice at Narrow Bay, off Smith Point County Park, in Shirley, said the Suffolk County Police. Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Busy CT Roadway, Police Say A man was killed after being hit by a Toyota Avalon along a busy Connecticut roadway. The incident took place around 12:15 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, in New Haven County in the area of Thomaston Avenue, in Waterbury.
