Student Apprehended After Threat Against School In Fairfield County A Fairfield County teen has been arrested for allegedly making threats against an area school on social media. The incident took place around 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, when the Fairfield Police Department was notified by the FBI New Haven of a possible threat made toward a Town of Fairfield school on the social media app Yik Yak, said Sgt. Alert Issued For Missing Long Island Teen Police on Long Island are asking the public for help locating a missing teen. The Nassau County Police Missing Persons Squad said Christian Guirand, age 15, of Massapequa, was last seen at his Shell Street home around 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20. Guirand is described as being 5-foot-8, 150 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and red and blue pants, police said. Official In Fairfield County Charged With Murder After Man Found Shot Dead In Home She Owns A Fairfield County city official has been arrested for the shooting murder of a man who lived at a home she owns. Ellen Wink, age 61, of Norwalk, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 20, and charged with the murder of 54-year-old Kurt Lametta, who lived at the Nelson Avenue home where he was found shot to death, said Lieutenant Terrence Blake, of the Norwalk Police. TikTokers Want Justice For Woman Who Died On Bumble Date The family of a Connecticut woman who was found dead in her apartment is upset over the way her death was handled is being backed by TikTok users. Lauren Smith-Fields, 23, of Bridgeport, was found dead in her apartment on Sunday, Dec. 12 by Bridgeport police after a date with 37-year-old Matthew LaFountain, whom she met on a dating site. Woman Seriously Injured After Suffolk County House Fire Breaks Out Police on Long Island are investigating after a fire seriously injured a woman. The blaze broke out around 5:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, at a home on Manhasset Trail in Ridge, said the Suffolk County Police. One woman, who lives at the home, was transported by the Ridge Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. Another resident in the home was not injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation but appears to be non-criminal, police said.

Fairfield County Man Nabbed For Impersonating Woman, Others, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly assuming the identity of an area woman and then making sexual advances toward friends and co-workers. Pasha Torkamani, age 37, of Stamford, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 20 for the incidents which began last year, said Lt. Tom Scanlon of the Stamford Police. 4-Month-Old Boy Found Dead At Area Home, Police Say Police are investigating after a 4-month boy was found dead at a home in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County in Monsey on Wednesday, Jan. 19, according to Det. Sgt. Michael Higgins, of the Ramapo Police. When police responded they found the child unresponsive, Higgins said. "There were no signs of foul play or trauma," Higgins said. A Dozen Displaced, Two Dogs Rescued After Hampden County House Fire A fire at a Western Massachusetts four-family unit home left 12 people and two dogs homeless. The fire broke out in Hampden County around 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, on Union Avenue in Westfield, said Deputy Chief Andrew Hart of the Westfield Fire Department. The fire started in one unit which received the most damage, but the other three units received smoke and water damage, Hart said. Two dogs were rescued by firefighters during the incident. No one was injured during the incident, Hart said. The Red Cross was called to offer assistance to the families and animals.
