Fairfield County Crack Dealer Nabbed As He Steps Off Train, Police Say A 67-year-old Fairfield County man was allegedly busted with crack cocaine as he stepped off a train. Moses Williams, of Stamford, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 4, after the Stamford Police Department's Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit received a tip that he would be arriving with drugs, said Captain Richard Conklin, of the Stamford Police. Conklin said Williams had gone to Bridgeport to purchase crack to bring back to Stamford and sell. Officers were waiting for him when he arrived later in the evening, Conklin added. Three Hospitalized After Head-On Hampden County Crash During Storm Three people received minor injuries during a head-on crash during a snowstorm in Western Massachusetts. The crash took place in Hampden County around 9:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 7, near the intersection of Converse Street and Rugby Road in Longmeadow. When police arrived on the scene they found one of the vehicles on fire, but an officer was able to extinguish the flames, according to Longmeadow Police. Three people were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Sidney Poitier, First Black Actor To Win Oscar, Longtime Westchester Resident, Dies Trailblazing, Sidney Poitier, the first Black actor to win an Oscar, a longtime New York resident has died. Bahamian Prime Minister Phillip Davis made the announcement that Poitier died on Thursday, Jan. 8 at the age of 94. A native of Cat Island in the Bahamas, Davis said: "The whole Bahamas grieves the celebrated life of a great Bahamian." Company officials announced the Bed Bath & Beyond store in Spring Valley Marketplace as well as in Port Chester will close in the next couple of months. Trooper Escorts Woman In Labor To Hospital After Stopping Car Going 100 MPH In West Springfield What started as a traffic stop for a car traveling over 100 miles per hour ended with a state trooper escorting the vehicle to a local hospital to deliver a baby in Western Massachusets. ID Released For Person Killed In Multi-Vehicle Crash On Icy Westchester Roadway Police have released the identity of a man killed during a fatal crash that occurred amid icy conditions in Westchester County on an entrance ramp to the Bronx River Parkway. Holyoke Man Admits To Distributing Heroin, Crack A Western Massachusetts man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing heroin and crack cocaine. Hampden County resident Ronny Authier, age 23, of Holyoke, pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute heroin and one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, the US Attorney's Office said.
