Police Investigating After Cemetery Sign In Connecticut Vandalized With Anti-Columbus Message Police are investigating after someone allegedly vandalized a sign and at least walls at a historic cemetery in Connecticut with anti-Columbus messages. The vandalism was reported in Middletown from a passing motorist who told them someone had spray painted the sign and other areas of the Indian Hill Cemetery in Middlesex County. According to Lt. Brian Hubbs, of the Middletown Police, officers found that someone had used bright pint spray paint to write "Land Back," with an anarchy symbol on the cemetery's sign. Brian Laundrie Likely 'Being Taken Care Of' While In Hiding, Says FBI Expert In New Report A former FBI agent who has taken part in some high-profile searches for fugitives says he believes Brian Laundrie is being taken care of and given help while in hiding. Person Struck, Killed By Car On Residential Roadway In Area A person was killed after being were hit by a vehicle in a residential neighborhood in the area. The incident was reported around 5:16 a.m., Monday, Oct. 11 in Ulster County. Officers responded to a 911 call of a reported car/pedestrian accident in the area of 61 South Ohioville Road in the Town of New Paltz. According to New Paltz Police Chief Robert Lucchesi, the preliminary investigation indicates the victim was in the northbound lane of the roadway and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on South Ohioville Road. Doctor Killed In Head-On, Hit-Run Hudson Valley Crash A doctor from the Hudson Valley was killed in a head-on hit-and-run crash. The incident took place around 12:20 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10, in Orange County on Route 32 in the town of Cornwall. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, Dr. John C. Hordines Jr., age 54, was driving a 2010 Chevy Tahoe southbound when he was hit head-on by a 2013 Honda Accord that crossed over in the southbound lane. Hordines Jr, of New Windsor, in Orange County, was pronounced dead at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Person Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Hit-Run Crash Near Gas Station In Fairfield County A person was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a busy Fairfield County roadway. The crash took place around 9 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10, at North Avenue and French Street in Bridgeport near the Citgo gas station. According to Sergeant Gabe Meszaros, of the Bridgeport Police, a male pedestrian was crossing North Avenue from the south side of the street when he was struck in the left travel lane by a dark unidentified vehicle. Duo Nabbed For Armed Robbery In Region Two Western Massachusetts men were arrested after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint at an area car wash. The incident took place in Hampden County around 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8, when Springfield Police responded to a car wash on the 1300 block of Boston Road for a report of a disturbance. House Fire Breaks Out In Fairfield County It took firefighters less than an hour to get a Fairfield County house fire under control over the weekend. The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 in the upstairs bedroom of a home at 340 Haig. Ave., in Stamford. CT Man Sentenced For Drug Distribution, Firearm Possession A Connecticut man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for narcotics distribution and firearm possession offenses.
