Hours-Long Standoff Ends In Suicide In Area A tense hours-long standoff ended when an area resident with a rifle killed himself. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. said the incident unfolded around 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23,  when the town of Kent Ambulance along with the EmStar medics were dispatched to Pudding Street in the Town of Putnam Valley for a man with chest pain. Long Island Man Dies From Injuries In House Fire A Long Island man who was critically injured during a house fire earlier this week has died from his injuries. Ivory Dean, age 67, of Copiague, died on Thursday, Sept. 23 from the injuries suffered on Sunday, Sept. 19, Suffolk County Police said. The fire started at the home located at 302 Deauville Blvd., in Copiague around 2:50 p.m., police said. When members of the Copiague Fire Department entered the house they found Dean unconscious. Long Island Man Rescued From Dock After Car Ends Up In Water A man clinging to the edge of a dock and screaming for help after his vehicle ended up in the water was rescued by police on Long Island. The incident took place around 9:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, in Bay Park. Know Him? Man Wanted For Robbing Branch Of Fairfield County Bank Police in Connecticut are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly robbed an area bank. The bank robbery took place around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at the Fairfield County Bank at 121 New Canaan Ave., in Norwalk. According to Sgt. Long Man Injured After Being Pinned Under Vehicle A Long Island man was injured after he became trapped under a vehicle at a salvage yard. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Suffolk County when Southampton Town Police Department responded to the salvage yard in Flanders. Prior to police arrival employees removed Michael Mujsce, age 74, from underneath the front end of a dismantled vehicle, police said.  Mujsce suffered minor injuries and was transported to Stony Brook Hospital via Flanders Ambulance for medical treatment.
