Massachusetts Man Admits To Purchasing MBTA Passes Using Others' Identities A Massachusetts man pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft in connection with using stolen identities to fraudulently purchase more than $150,000 in MBTA passes. Kokou Kuakumensah, age 31, of Worcester, pleaded guilty on Thursday, July 22, to one count of wire fraud and four counts of aggravated identity theft, said the U.S. Attorney's Office. Teen Nabbed With Box Cutter At Long Island Park, Police Say A Long Island teen who allegedly had a box cutter at an area park has been arrested. Jarbar Henfield, age 18, was arrested on Thursday, July 22 by Nassau County Police in New Cassel after police received reports of a man with a gun at the Martin “Bunky” Reid Park. According to detectives, officers responded to a call for a person with a weapon at the park and were given a description of the man, later identified as Henfield, and were able to locate him still in the park. Westchester Man Killed In Hit-Run Crash, Police Say A Westchester man was killed after being hit by a hit-and-run driver while walking in the area. The 44-year-old Mamaroneck resident was struck and killed around 11:20 p.m., Wednesday, July 21 in the area of 609 Mamaroneck Avenue, authorities said. Officers responded and immediately rendered aid to the victim before he was transported to Westchester County Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, said Mamaroneck PD Lt. Mark Gatta. Body Of Missing Fairfield County Man Found In River, Police Say Police have located the body of a Fairfield County man in the Housatonic River who was the subject of a Silver Alert. Police said the body of Khristopher Whyte, age 36, was located on Thursday, July 22 in Stratford by local marine units searching the area. Woman Dies After Being Pulled From River In Fairfield County A woman whose body was pulled from a river in Fairfield County has died. The 41-year-old Bridgeport woman was found floating early Friday, July 23, in the area of the Pequonnock River in Trumbull between White Plains Road and Quarry Road, said police. Man Nabbed For Passing Counterfeit Bills At Two Fairfield County Businesses, Police Say Three years after allegedly passing counterfeit bills at two Fairfield County businesses, one of three men has been nabbed for the alleged crime. Maxie Ryles, age 31, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Tuesday, July 13, for the incident which took place in November 2017, said Darien Police Sgt. James Palmieri. During the crime, it was reported that three men entered both Gofer Ice Cream and 1020 Post and passed counterfeit $50 bills. At Gofer, the three men ordered ice cream costing less than $6 each. Teen Nabbed With Loaded Gun After Officers Pull Over BMW In Fairfield County, Police Say A 17-year-old was nabbed with a loaded handgun after being stopped in a black BMW whose tags did not match the vehicle. The teen was arrested around 9:15 p.m., Tuesday, July 20 in Stamford. Seen Him? Police Asking For Help Locating Missing Man Police are asking the public for help locating a man who has been missing for more than four months after leaving a Hudson Valley health center. Authorities in Ulster County said 57-year-old John Spreitzer of Kingston was last seen leaving the area of the Hudson Valley Health Alliance Broadway Campus, on Wednesday, March 17. Kingston Police describe Spreitzer as being 6-foot-10, 170 pounds with grey hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his neck and wears dentures. Person Hit By Train On Long Island A person who was hit by an MTA train on Long Island has been transported to an area hospital alive. The incident took place in Suffolk County in Bridgehampton around 11:59 a.m., Thursday, July 22, said the Southampton Town Police.
