Fairfield County Store Owner Arrested For Sexual Assault Of Customer, Police Say
A Fairfield County furniture store owner has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a customer after telling her to lay down on a mattress to test it.
Hennawi Salem, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Tuesday, July 20, by Bridgeport Police at his business, Salem Furniture, located at 120 Porter St., said Det. Albert Palatiello.
Salem is accused of luring a female customer to the basement of his furniture store. Once in the basement, the woman was asked to lay down and test the mattress, Palatiello said.

Area Man Accused Of Grabbing Woman, Exposing Himself, State Police Say
State Police arrested an area man for allegedly exposing himself to women and then touching them without consent and masturbating in public.
The Orange County resident was arrested after a woman and her husband called state police to report that an unknown man grabbed the woman as he walked by and then exposed himself around 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, in Kiryas Joel, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
Christopher Lyons, age 21, of Monroe, was arrested after state police responded to the area, Nevel said.

Silver Alert Issued For Fairfield County Man Who May Be Threat To Himself, Police Say
A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Fairfield County man who may be a threat to himself, according to police.
Khristopher Whyte, age 36, of Stratford, was last seen on Monday, July 19, near the Devon Bridge, Stratford Police said.
He is described as being 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, with short dreads in his hair. The last time he was seen, Whyte was wearing a maroon shirt.

Police in Fairfield County are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed another man to death overnight.
Bridgeport Police is asking the public for help locating Ricardo Garcia, age 41, of Bridgeport, who they say is responsible for the stabbing death of a man around 3:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 20 on Whitney Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, a 61-year-old man (name withheld until a notation is made to the family), dead from multiple stab wounds, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management.

Police ID Man Killed After Ford F-150 Hits Curb, Overturns In Fairfield County
Police have identified the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Fairfield County in which the driver allegedly lost control of his pickup truck and smashed into a median divider and was thrown from the vehicle and pinned underneath.
Oscar Reyes, age 39, of Stamford, was killed around 12:32 a.m., Monday, July 19, on Washington Boulevard in Stamford, said Sgt. Jefferey Booth.
According to Booth, a 2005 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard, just north of the intersection with Bridge Street.
