Area Woman Charged In Fatal Hit-Run Crash Had Earlier DWI Charge, Police Say
A local woman who was arrested for a hit-and-run crash that killed a man outside a lakefront home in the area was arrested two months ago for DWI and was due to have her license suspended in several days.
Maggie DePerna, age 37, of Mahopac was charged on Saturday, June 26, with vehicular manslaughter, and two counts of DWI (she was reportedly driving drunk when arrested) in the hit-and-run death in Mahopac of James Crecco, of Carmel, on Friday, June 25, said the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

One Killed, Another Injured During Shooting At Park In Westchester, Police Say
One man was shot and killed and another injured during an overnight incident in Westchester County.
The two men were found in Sleepy Hollow around 9:30 p.m., Monday, June 28, authorities said.
A Sleepy Hollow Police officer patrolling the area of 126 Valley Street and Margotta Court Park heard gunshots, said Police Chief Anthony Bueti.
When the officer arrived on the scene, he found the two men, both shot. Officers and Sleepy Hollow EMS rendered emergency aid, and the victims were transported to Westchester Medical Center.

Long Island Man Discovered Bleeding, Suffering From Numerous Gunshot Wounds, Police Say
Police on Long Island discovered a man who was bleeding and had been shot in the buttocks several times when they responded to a call for an alcohol emergency.
The incident took place around 1 a.m., Monday, June 28, in the area of Edwards Boulevard and East Olive Street in Long Beach, said Sgt. Brett Curtis.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found blood on the pants of the person in need of medical assistance. It was discovered by medical personnel that the man, unknown to him, had been shot multiple times in the buttocks area, Curtis said.
