Body Of Missing Western Mass Man Found In River, Police Say The body of a missing man has been recovered from a river in Western Mass. The discovery took place around 6:45 p.m., Saturday, May 15, when Springfield Police responded to Indian Orchard for a report of a missing adult male, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield PD. The man's body was located and recovered from the Chicopee River in Springfield, Walsh said. "Detectives will conduct an unattended death investigation," Walsh said. The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death, he added.

ID Released For Man Found Dead At High School In Fairfield County Police have released the identity of a man who was found dead in a stairway of a Fairfield County high school. The incident happened around 3:45 p.m., Sunday, May 16, when Bridgeport Police received a call reporting the body at Bassick High School. Bridgeport Police and AMR responded to the scene and pronounced the man, now identified as Bruce Lee Gilbert, age 46, of Bridgeport, dead on-scene, said Bridgeport PD Captain Kevin Gilleran. Sheriff's Deputy Seriously Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash In Area A sheriff's deputy was injured during a two-vehicle collision with a truck in the area. The Putnam County Sheriff's deputy was injured around 12:40 p.m., Monday, May 17 in the area of the Fahnestock State Park, located in Carmel, said the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. CT Wrong-Way Teenage Driver Who Caused Crash Admitted Smoking Pot Before Driving, Police Say A Connecticut woman who was driving the wrong way on Route 15 and was involved in a two-vehicle crash has been arrested for allegedly driving while high on marijuana. Alma Robledo, age 19, of Hartford, was arrested on Monday, May 17, by Connecticut State Police for the crash which took place in February, said state police. IDs Released For Husband-Wife Victims Of Apparent Murder-Suicide In Fairfield County A husband and wife who died in an apparent murder-suicide in Fairfield County have been identified by police. The incident took place around 3:58 p.m., Sunday, May 16, at home on Chatham Drive in Norwalk, said Norwalk PD Lt. Joe Dinho. Man Found Dead On Park Trail In Hudson Valley A 73-year-old Hudson Valley man was found dead, apparently of natural causes, in the vicinity of a hiking trail in the area. The resident of Philipstown, in Putnam County, was found on Monday, May 17 at the Schunnemunk State Park, located in Orange County, in the Town of Cornwall, said NYS Parks officials. State Park Police, NYS Park Forest Rangers, Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office, Town of Cornwall Police, Salisbury Mills FD, Cornwall FD, DEC forest rangers, and local EMS all responded to the scene. Long Island Man Points BB Gun At Officers, Police Say A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly pointing a BB gun at police officers who were walking down a street. Woman Jumps Into Sea Lion Tank At Aquarium In New York A woman was taken to an area hospital after jumping into the sea lion tank at the Long Island Aquarium. The incident took place around 2 p.m. Monday, May 17 in Suffolk County. Officers were called to the aquarium in Riverhead after the woman jumped into the tank. The woman who was taken into custody was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, the Riverhead Police said. Police said an arrest was not made as of Monday afternoon. Police Continuing Investigation Of Fatal Western Mass Crash Authorities are continuing investigating a motor vehicle crash in Western Mass that left one man dead.
