67-Year-Old Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Northern Westchester A Hudson Valley man died following a single-vehicle crash in Northern Westchester. Dutchess County resident Gary Malstrom Sr., age 67, of East Fishkill, was killed around 6:40 p.m., Saturday, May 15 on the Bear Moutain Parkway in the town of Cortlandt, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. A preliminary investigation indicates Malstrom, who was driving a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on the parkway when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guide rail, Hicks said. Two Dead After Armed Person Reported In Fairfield County Neighborhood, Police Say Two people were killed in Fairfield County during an incident that put a neighborhood on high alert for several hours over the weekend. It happened around 515 p.m., on Sunday, May 16 on Chatham Drive in Norwalk. State and local government officials are working to stem the number of shootings taking place in Fairfield County after shots were fired during a Little League game. 20-Year-Old Fairfield County Woman Dies After Being Shot, Police Say A 20-year-old Fairfield County woman was shot and killed in New Haven. The incident took place around 7:40 p.m., Saturday, May 15 at Sheffield Avenue, in the Newhallville neighborhood. Responding officers located and secured the crime scene, New Haven PD Sergeant Shayna Kendall said. A short time later, a 20-year-old woman was dropped off at Yale-New Haven Hospital by a private car, Kendall said. The woman, a Bridgeport resident, was suffering from a single gunshot wound. Fire Destroys Barn, Another Structure At Area Business More than 40 firefighters battled a blaze that destroyed a barn and another structure at a business in the area. It broke out just before 9 p.m. Sunday, May 16 in Dutchess County. The Red Hook Fire Company, along with the Tivoli Fire Department were dispatched to the fire at A-W Coon & Sons at 412 Route 199 in Red Hook, said John Lauffer, spokesman for the Red Hook Fire Company. Body Found In Stairwell At High School In Fairfield County The body of a man was found inside a stairwell at a Fairfield County high school. The man was found on Sunday, May 16 when a person called the Bridgeport Police Department to report they had "come across" a body in the outside stairwell of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management.
