New Hampshire Man In Custody After Hours-Long Standoff At Connecticut Hotel
After a standoff that lasted more than three hours, a New England man who was barricaded in a hotel room with a woman was arrested by police.
Jordan Pappalardo, age 26, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was arrested on Monday, April 26, in Connecticut by Manchester Police after he told officers he had a gun and refused to come out of the Courtyard By Marriott, said Lt. Ryan Shea of the Manchester Police Department.
The incident began around 10:30 p.m. when officers attempted to contact Pappalardo who had an extraditable warrant out of New Hampshire, said Shea.

Man Arrested In Connection With Overdose Of Long Island Resident, Police Say
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged overdose of a Long Island resident.
Donald Smith, of Valley Stream, was apprehended by Nassau County Police on Thursday, April 29, following a months-long investigation into the non-fatal overdose of an area resident, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, when officers attempted to arrest Smith, he fled on foot and resisted arrest.
Once captured he was found with 37 bags of alleged heroin, 110 Xanax pills, and 50 Buprenorphine Naloxone pills, according to police.

Funeral Services Scheduled For Nypd Cop From Long Island Killed In Hit-Run Crash
Wake and funeral details have been released for an NYPD officer from Suffolk County who was killed when he was struck by an alleged drunk driver while working on the Long Island Expressway.
Anastasios Tsakos, age 43, of East Northport, was killed on Tuesday, April 27, when he was working another accident on the LIE and was allegedly hit and killed by Jessica Beauvais, age 32, of Hempstead, who then fled the scene.
Beauvais, who police say was drunk at the time, has been charged with 13 counts in the case, including three counts of manslaughter.
