Suspect Charged With Machete Attacks On Pennypack Park Trail: Philly Police Authorities have arrested the man who they said attacked parkgoers with a machete in Northeast Philadelphia.  Elias Diaz, 46, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related counts, city police said. Giant Worker In Berks County Embezzled $24,000 From Employer, Police Claim A grocery store employee in Spring Township is accused of bilking tens of thousands of dollars from her employer, authorities say.  Christina Bortz, 53, is charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, according to court records.  Spring police said Bortz works as the "checkout coach" or accounting employee at Giant and admitted to taking about $24,000 from the company.  Bortz, of Sinking Spring, was released on her own recognizance and is due back for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 26, court records show.

New Details Emerge In Schuylkill County Double Murder: PSP State police investigators are shedding new light on the murders of Hunter Mock and Angel Caraballo.  The teens were found dead in a wooded area near Ferndale Road in New Philadelphia Borough early on Oct. 10, authorities have said. 'Molotov Cocktail' Thrown At Empty Car In East Stroudsburg, Troopers Say State police are investigating after a Molotov cocktail was tossed at an unoccupied car parked at East Stroudsburg University, troopers said in a release.  Authorities believe the arson happened around 4 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. A Molotov cocktail, police said, is "a hand-thrown incendiary weapon consisting of a fragile container filled with flammable substances, containing a fuse that is lit prior to being thrown." Pedestrian Killed In Allentown Wreck Was A Beloved Mom, Family Says Luz Daneza Ruiz Acosta, an Allentown mother of two with a grandchild on the way, was hit and killed in a car accident Sunday, Dec. 10, according to authorities and loved ones. She was 43.  Ruiz Acosta was on the 300 block of West Hamilton Street around 1:15 a.m. when she was fatally struck, Daily Voice reported.
