An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Westchester Musicians Rock To Rebuild In Rye RYE, N.Y. -- Musicians from Westchester will be performing in Rye later this month at a benefit concert for those impacted by the recent hurricanes.Rock2Rebuild is hosting a concert from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22 at Shenorock Shore Club at 475 Stuyvesant Avenue. Performers include The Band Jam, a Band tribute band, The Dog Star Band, The Brothers of the Road Band, an Allman Brothers tribute band and The Mike Risko Band. Man Caught With Stolen Lexus In Yorktown Heights, Police Say A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged with stealing a Lexus on Wednesday night, Yorktown Police said. Stuart Alpert of Yorktown was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a stolen property, a Class D felony after police spotted the gray Lexus on Birdsall Drive, which had been reported stolen earlier in the day. Alpert was found to be in possession of the vehicle and he was arrested at the scene and transported to headquarters. He is being held pending arraignment.

Peekskill Native George Pataki Calls For Unity Former governor George Pataki, a Peekskill native who lives in Garrison, said he is sick of all the partisan bickering. In an interview with Buffalo News on the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Pataki said he was disappointed the sense of unity following the attacks is gone. Family Disagreement To Blame For Wife Owing $46K In Taxes, Latimer Says RYE, N.Y. -- George Latimer, the Democratic candidate for Westchester county executive, said a family disagreement is to blame for a home owned by his wife owing more than $46,000 in back taxes to the City of Rye.Latimer's mother-in-law Alice Phelps passed away in 2012, and since then his wife's family has disagreed with how to settle her estate, located at 60 Roosevelt Avenue, Latimer said.
