Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Westchester Claims Another Legal Victory In Federal Housing Settlement WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- County Executive Rob Astorino on Thursday said that Westchester had won another victory in its federal housing settlement. The U.S. Magistrate Judge assigned to the affordable housing case ruled that the county had provided financing for enough units to meet its 2014 benchmark and that there was no basis for the county to be held in contempt, according to a press statement. Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle Near Westchester Community College VALHALLA, N.Y. -- A 60-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle near Westchester Communtiy College late Monday evening, according to multiple reports. The unidentified man was hit about 8 p.m. on Grasslands Road between the college, Kensico Cemetery and BOCES ' Valhalla office. Drivers Escape Serious Injuries In Route 9G Crash RED HOOK, N.Y. - Dutchess County sheriff's deputies responded to a two-car crash on Sunday at Route 9G and Kelly Road in Red Hook. A sheriff's department spokesman said the early afternoon crash was minor and no one was injured. However, local volunteer firefighters were called to clean up a related spill of fluids from the damaged vehicles about 12:30 p.m. The Red Hook intersection is the site of frequent accidents, even with a traffic light installed there.
