A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Fire Engulfs Commercial Building In Summit: Authorities A fire tore through a commercial building in Summit on the evening of Monday, Dec. 2, authorities said. At 7:10 p.m., the Summit Fire Department responded to a fire at 789 Springfield Ave., which houses several businesses, a spokesperson for the city said. On arrival, crews found the fire in the attic space of the building and extinguished it, authorities said. Crews determined the fire was caused by a malfunctioning exterior light fixture, authorities said. Damage was mostly contained to the outside of the building and no injuries reported, authorities said.

Randolph Teen Fatally Struck By Vehicle: Prosecutor An 18-year-old Randolph resident was fatally struck by a vehicle on the evening of Friday, Nov. 29, authorities said. Maria Lorena Orellana-Valverde was struck by a 2022 Honda HRV at the intersection of Route 10 and Cedar Grove Road, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Orellana-Valverde was transported to Morristown Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, authorities said. The incident remains under investigation, authorities said.

Tragedy In High Bridge: Crossing Guard Killed Remembered For Life Of Service Robert "Bob" Bork, a 79-year-old High Bridge crossing guard struck and killed by a car last week is being remembered for his dedication to helping others. Bork was hit by a southbound vehicle on County Road 513 at the intersection of Larrison Avenue last Wednesday, Nov. 28, according to the High Bridge Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. Truck Overturns On Route 278 A truck has overturned on Route 278 in Union County on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 2, authorities said. The tractor trailer overturned on Route 278 westbound near Exit 1 in Linden, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The crash occurred around 1 p.m., authorities said. One right lane is closed, authorities said.

DNA Match Cracks 1997 Bridgewater Murder Case, Suspect Arrested In Canada After 27 years, authorities announced an arrest in a major Bridgewater cold case murder. Robert Creter, a 60-year-old Winnipeg, Manitoba resident was charged with the murder of Tamara "Tammy" Tignor, 23, of Newark, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said Monday, Dec. 2. Dover Police Officer Charged With Child Porn Possession: Prosecutor A Dover police officer was recently arrested and charged with possessing child pornography, authorities said. Anthony Kelly, a Ledgewood resident was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, distributing child sexual abuse material and endangering the welfare of a child, possessing child sexual abuse material, a spokesperson for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Dover Police Chief Jonathan Delaney did not respond to an e-mail request for comment.

Man Shot In East Orange On Thanksgiving: Authorities A 21-year-old man was shot in East Orange on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, authorities said. At 5:30 p.m., a woman called East Orange police and said her son had been shot, a spokeswoman for the City of East Orange said.
