Vehicle Overturns In Bridgewater, Delays Expected: Police A car crash led a vehicle to overturn in Bridgewater on the morning of Thursday, March 28, according to an alert issued by police. The crash occurred on the S-Curves of Chimney Rock Road, police said. Lanes are currently closed between Gilbride Road and Thompson Avenue, police said. Motorists should expect delays and avoid the area if possible, police said. It is unknown if there are any injuries.

Man Busted With Loaded Handgun During Route 46 Traffic Stop: Police A 48-year-old Port Murray man was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun following a traffic stop in Mount Olive on Saturday, March 23, authorities said. Pavel Molina was heading east on Route 46 in a Nissan pickup in Mount Olive when police stopped him for a non-functioning headlight around 11 p.m., Mount Olive police said.  During the investigation, police determined that Molina had a loaded handgun in the glove compartment, officers said. Woman Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Belleville: Authorities A 78-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Belleville on Friday, March 22, authorities said. At 8:53 a.m., Teresita Cenit was hit by a car while walking on the 100 block of Union Avenue, Thomas Fennelly, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.  She was transported to University Hospital in Newark where she was pronounced dead soon after, Fennelly said. The driver remained on scene, Fennelly said. The crash remains under investigation.
