The company that produces M&Ms, Snickers, Altoids, and Ben's Original announced a $70 million investment to its site in Hackettstown.  The money will go toward a new Research and Development Innovation Studio, including a new test kitchen and packaging lab. Cooking Oil Thieves Busted: Nutley PD Two men were arrested and charged with stealing cooking oil from a restaurant in Nutley, authorities said. On Saturday, Feb. 24, Lewis Cogman, a Belleville resident and Bashir Wilson, a Newark resident, stole the oil from a restaurant on Washington Avenue, causing damage to the parking lot, Chief Thomas Strumolo said.  Police identified Cogman and Wilson as the suspects and they were charged with theft, criminal mischief and defiant trespass, Strumolo said. The man was a customer at Avon Laundromat on the 100 block of Avon Avenue when he complained to employees that his clothing had been stolen from a dryer around 12:30 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Toddler Falls From Second Floor Window: Newark PD A 2-year-old toddler is in stable condition after he fell from a second-floor window on the evening of Sunday, March 17, authorities said. Armando Fontoura, who was appointed sheriff in 1990 and been elected to 10 terms is not seeking re-election, a spokesperson for the Essex County Sherriff's Office said.  Fontoura is the longest tenured sheriff in Essex County history.
