Prosecutor: DWI Driver Charged In Deadly Crash That Killed Passenger In Jersey City
Authorities on Thursday announced the arrest of a driver involved in a crash that left his 30-year-old passenger dead in Jersey City last February. Jose Colon, 31, was heading west on Columbus Drive approaching the roadway split when his vehicle, a 1996 Honda Civic, struck the attenuator- protected guard rail around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 28, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A 56-year-old Chester County teacher has been accused of sexually abusing an elementary school student for two years, authorities announced. Luis Morales, 56, of West Chester, abused the 3rd and 4th grade student between 2014 and 2016 while at Nottingham Elementary School in Oxford, DA Deb Ryan said. 13 NJ Beaches Under Swimming Advisory Due To Fecal Bacteria
Swimming advisories were issued to 13 of New Jersey's beaches due to high levels of fecal bacteria. National Guard: Afghan Refugees Arrive In NJ With Up To 9,500 Total Expected
The first group of Afghan refugees arrived in New Jersey overnight, NJ Advance Media reports. New Jersey National Guard Capt. Christopher Bowyer-Meeder confirmed the arrival with the news outlet Wednesday. It was not clear exactly how many people were in the group that arrived at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. 1 Hospitalized In Myerstown Building Explosion
An explosion at a commercial building caused a large fire that injured one person in Jackson Township early Wednesday morning, according to authorities. Fire crews including multiple tankers were called to the Lapp Carriage Shop at 372 King St., in Myerstown around 7 a.m., according to Emergency Dispatch Services. Driver, 31, Dead In Route 55 Crash
Authorities have identified the man who died in a crash on Route 55 Tuesday. A Cadillac was heading south in the right lane of the highway when it struck a Chevrolet Express van in the left lane around 4:40 p.m. in Deptford, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The Cadillac side swiped the van, then traveled off of the roadway to the right and struck a tree. near milepost 55.4, Marchan said. A 23-year-old man operating a farm tractor died after a crash with two vehicles in the Poconos, authorities said. Dalton Davidson, of Saylorsburg, was operating a farm tractor and slowing for a right turn when he was rear-ended by an SUV on the southbound side of State Route 209 Tuesday around 10:40 p.m., according to State Police and the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Motorcycle Passenger Killed In Lehigh County Tractor Trailer Crash
A 49-year-old motorcycle passenger died in a crash with a tractor trailer in Lehigh County. Kerri Sodl, of Trexlertown, was riding on the bike that collided with the truck around 11 p.m. Tuesday on the 800 block of Trexlertown Road in Upper Macungie Township, according to the Lehigh County Coronor's Office. Sodl was pronounced dead at 1:22 a.m. Wednesday, by Deputy Coroner Cassandra Schiffner. Sodl's Facebook page says she previously lived in Emmaus. The incident is being investigated by the Upper Macungie Township Police Department.
