Know HIM? Newark Police Seek ID Of Man In Shooting Investigation Police are seeking the public's help identifying a man wanted in a Newark shooting investigation. Officers responding to a shooting on the 100 block of South Devine Street around 1:10 p.m. Aug. 4, where a victim was laying on the ground with gunshot wounds, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. 2 People Dead In Fiery Crash Into Delaware County Home Two people died when a car barreled into a Delaware County home and burst into flames overnight, CBS Philly reports. The crash happened around 2 a.m. at a house near the intersection of PA-291 and Franklin Street in Chester. Rock Gibson, a friend of the driver, identified him to CBS reporters as Jarue Stewart -- a hardworking father of three. The homeowners made it out alive and firefighters apparently extricated the victims from the vehicle. The house was left with a gaping hole. Details surrounding the crash were unclear. 51 Unruly Inmates In Hudson County Jail's Max Security Unit Lead Midday Riot The Hudson County jail's maximum security unit was on lockdown for nearly two hours as 51 inmates refused to return to their cells in a riot on Thursday, NJ Advance Media reports. Jail Director Ron Edwards told the outlet that the inmates poured soapy water at the unit's entrances and tied sheets to door handles just after 12:30 p.m. Corrections officers negotiated with the inmates for 45 minutes before deploying pepper spray, Edwards said. Popular Jersey Shore BBQ Joint Shutters A popular Jersey Shore barbecue joint has closed its doors. Big Barlow's BBQ in Barnegat announced earlier this month that Aug. 21 would be its last day in business. Big Barlow's opened as a food truck in 2018 and has been operating out of a Main Street storefront for the last two years. Owner Chris Barlow says catering will still be available.

2 Newark Officers Hospitalized In Hit-Run Crash A pair of Newark police officers were hospitalized with minor injuries in a hit-and-run crash early Thursday, authorities said. The police car was near Bergen and West Runyon streets when it was struck by another car around 9:30 a.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. The officers were taken to University Hospital for complaints of pain. This incident remains under investigation. No further information is available.

Reward: $10K Offered In Irvington Killings Of Rahway Brothers A $10,000 reward is being offered in the shooting deaths of two Essex County brothers. The money is being offered by Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s Crime Stoppers Program in connection with the July 4 homicides of Malik A. McCallister, 38, and Tarik R. Barnes, 42, in Irvington. The Rahway brothers were shot around midnight on Montrose Terrace. McCallister was pronounced dead at Beth Israel at 12:30 a.m. Monday, July 5. NJ Man Reunited With Family After 18 Years Dies In Highway Crash A 55-year-old Bergenfield man was killed in a crash on Route 1&9 just two weeks after bringing his family to the US from India after 18 years apart, according to authorities and those who knew him. Roy Thomas was driving a box truck when he ran into the back of a tractor trailer at a high rate of speed in Newark near the Kearny border early Tuesday morning, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Closed: No Swimming At NJ Beach Due To Fecal Bacteria One of New Jersey's beaches were closed for swimming Friday after a second batch of water samples showed high levels of fecal bacteria. Swimming advisories were initially issued at 13 beaches, where enterococci levels exceeded 104 colony forming units (cfu) Monday.
