Iconic Montclair Jazz Club 'Trumpets' Sold To Developer For $1.2M Longtime Montclair jazz club Trumpets sold last April to a North Jersey real estate firm for $1.2 million after two years on the market, Montclair Local reports. Located across from the Walnut Street train station, the 6 Depot Sq. building was purchased by Hanini Group of Newark, according to the outlet.  The developers plan to turn the facility into a restaurant with outdoor dining, a cafe, double the two apartments on the property, the outlet said. The liquor license was not included with the purchase, Montclair Local reports. Officers responding to a house for an alarm activation around 4:30 a.m. Monday found a broken window and heard someone upstairs, Det. Scot Pezick said. The officers left the house and established a perimeter, bringing the county SWAT team to the scene. Around 6:15 a.m., 36-year-old Bryan R. Smith, of Exton, walked out of the house stark naked, authorities said. Smith was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking.

The incident occurred on Route 1&9 near East Jersey Street around 4:10 a.m., responders told Daily Voice. The victim appeared to have gotten pinned under the truck's tires.
