Police are searching for a former New Jersey teacher reported missing. Kelly Brophy's family said her phone was last tracked to Brooklyn, NY on June 30, but has since been off and she is unreachable. Brophy -- formerly a teacher in Lawrence Township -- is believed to be suffering from depression since her father's passing, family says. She is driving a red 2021 Mazda CX30 NJ Reg. DH9-NRJ. Man, Teen Wearing Ankle Monitor Arrested In Shooting Of 9-Year-Old Girl In Newark
A 22-year-old man and 15-year-old girl previously arrested last month in a Newark carjacking were charged in connection with last week's shooting of a 9-year-old girl in Newark. The victim's 16-year-old sister and her 15-year-old friend had gotten into an argument on June 30 around 5:25 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said. The 15-year-old came into the house on the 400 block of Holiday Court at the Wynona Lipman Gardens Apartment Complex, with a man identified as Nazir Cruz, the director said. Pedestrian Airlifted In Clark Crash
A pedestrian was airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a car in Clark Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The 85-year-old resident was walking west on the sidewalk in front of Santander Bank when they were struck by a Jetta heading east on Raritan Road, Clark Police Det. Lt. Christian Lott said. The driver of the Jetta stayed on scene and is cooperating with police. The victim was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick with unknown injuries, police said.

DPW Worker Charged With Multiple Sex Crimes Involving Juvenile, Hudson Prosecutor Says
A 46-year-old DPW worker from Hudson County on charges involving multiple sex crimes against a juvenile, authorities said Saturday. Secaucus resident Victor Rodriguez assaulted the alleged victim -- who was ages 12 and 13 -- more than seven years ago, and was arrested June 29, 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The Secaucus DPW worker was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by contact, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact. Rodriguez was being held in the Hudson County Jail pending a first court appearance.

Camden Prosecutor: Partial Care Counselor Had Sex With Patient Under 13 Years Old
A 28-year-old man working as a counselor in a partial care program had sex with a child in the program, authorities in Camden County said. An investigation into the allegations against Steven Brown began when someone disclosed that he had sexual intercourse with the child, who was under 13 years old at the time of the incident, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. NJ State Trooper Airlifted In Garden State Parkway Crash
A New Jersey State Trooper was airlifted in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Friday afternoon, authorities said. The two-car crash closed the southbound side of the highway causing heavy delays around 1:30 p.m. near Exit 145 in East Orange, New Jersey State Police said. The trooper was in and out of consciousness after the crash, but suffered non life-threatening injuries, sources with direct knowledge of the crash told Daily Voice. The incident remains under investigation.

Newly-released video footage shows a Newark police officer stop a suicidal girl from jumping off of a roof. Fourth Precinct Officer Elijah Melvin arrived on scene just after 5 p.m. June 23, and removed a window from the home to get closer to the girl, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
