A man was arrested for trying to light a spray canister on fire as he pointed it toward another person during an argument outside of a supermarket in Prince William County, authorities said. Selvin Magdaleno Corrales Alvarado, 20, of Woodbridge, was found in the parking lot of Food Lion on Richmond Highway around 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, after arguing with a person collecting shopping carts, county police said. Another veteran officer from the Metropolitan Police Department has been killed in a motorcycle crash. The agency announced that Second District Officer Nelson Casillas, an eight-year veteran of the department, was involved in a serious crash in Virginia and died from his injuries on Wednesday, June 7. Small But Spicy: Powerful Clinging Jellyfish Spotted In NJ Waters
A petite but potent jellyfish is hiding in New Jersey waters, naturalists warn. The Clinging Jellyfish, officially dubbed the Gonionemus vertens, was collected last month by naturalist Naturalist Jesse Amesbury at Skimmer Tours during a trip in the Cape May area. The jellyfish is difficult to see, growing to be only about an inch in diameter and mostly transparent, according to the NJDEP. A 10-year-old boy was able to break free from a masked man who grabbed him early Wednesday morning, June 7, police in Prince William County said. The man approached the boy from a dark-colored vehicle and grabbed him suddenly on the 2800 block of Gloucester Drive in Woodbridge, according to county police. Support is surging for family members grieving the loss of the father and son killed in the Richmond mass shooting Tuesday, June 6.
