Wawa Days Away From Opening Pocono Store: Report
Wawa is nearing the opening of a Monroe County store, WFMZ reports. The popular convenience store and gas station chain is set to open Thursday, Nov. 3 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and T-shirt giveaway to the first 100 customers beginning at 8 a.m., the outlet says. Man Who Killed NJ Mom For $11M Fortune Gets Prison Time
A 25-year-old man who killed his mom and hid her body in the family's North Jersey home in an effort to expedite his inheritance of her $11 million savings has been sentenced to prison. Jared Eng was sentenced to 22 years to life on Wednesday, Oct. 26, for the January 2019 murder that took place in New York City in the Tribeca apartment he shared with his mother Paula Chin, said the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Child, Adult Pedestrians Seriously Hurt In Halloween Hit-Run: Police
A child and adult were hospitalized with serious injuries in a Halloween Night hit-and-run in North Plainfield, authorities said. The 7-year-old boy and 21-year-old woman were struck on Mountain Road and Jeffery Street just after 6:22 p.m., Police Capt. Alan McKay said. Both were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, where one victim was admitted, McKay said. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a gold or black sedan.

Jersey City School Security Guard Sexually Abused Two Children: Prosecutor
A Jersey City school security guard has been charged in the sexual abuse of two children, authorities said. The acts allegedly carried out by Freddy Salas, 60, of Bayonne, did not involve students, nor did they occur on school or district property, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Salas is employed as a security guard with the Jersey City Public Schools at School 5, Suarez said. Prostitution Bust Nets Seven Arrests At Hotels In This Hudson County Town
Several prostitution-related arrests were made in one day as part of a continuous effort to combat violent crimes in one Hudson County town.
