A 33-year-old newly-discharged Bayshore Medical Center patient was tased and shot by police after crashing stolen vehicles early Wednesday, Oct. 26, News 12 New Jersey reports. Central Jersey Fire Chief Charged With Theft: Prosecutor
A Central Jersey fire chief has been charged with theft on accusations he used department funding to buy nearly $2,100 worth of personal items, authorities said. The investigation into Monroe Fire District No. 2 Chief James Carbin III was opened last February, after commissioners noticed financial discrepancies, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Taxes were being paid on items, when they were a tax-exempt entity, Ciccone added. Route 22 Shooting Hospitalizes Driver
A driver was hospitalized after being shot at on Route 22 in Whitehall Township on Wednesday, Oct. 26, authorities said. PA State troopers responding to the eastbound lanes around 3:15 p.m. found the driver of a white Dodge Charger injured after an unknown occupant in the right lane fired shots, police said. A massive search is under way in Pennsylvania for a woman who authorities say abducted her 6-year-old daughter during a supervised visit. Vanessa Gutshall, 37, and Zoe Moss were reported missing out of Downington on Tuesday, Oct. 25. They were last seen near East Ward Elementary School in Chester County around 6:10 p.m. The child was at that location for a court-ordered, non-school-related supervised visit with her mom. Discovery Of Hand Grenade Brings Bomb Squad To Union County Business
A worker at a trucking company was cleaning a vehicle when he found a hand grenade, drawing a large police presence Tuesday, Oct. 25, authorities confirmed. The explosive device was found by a worker at Marine Cargo on New Brunswick Avenue in Rahway, and the company's owner reported it to Rahway police around 11:45 a.m., local police said. The bomb squad responded and found the device to be inert. The device had been left in the truck by a former employee, who will not be charged, Rahway police said.

Driver Fatally Shoots Himself On Garden State Parkway: State Police
A driver fatally shot himself in a vehicle on the Garden State Parkway overnight, authorities said. State troopers patrolling the highway found a vehicle on the right shoulder at milepost 139 in Cranford around 3:30 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. Upon approaching the vehicle, troopers saw a deceased man with one self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, Marchan said. The incident remains under investigation and there was no additional information available.
