Teen Boy Dead, Another Wounded In Double Passaic Stabbing A 16-year-old boy was killed and a 17-year-old boy hurt in a stabbing overnight in Passaic, authorities said. The city residents were apparently arguing when the incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Krueger Place and Poplar Streets, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman said. The 16-year-old boy was pronounced dead and the 17-year-old boy was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Female Motorcyclist, 52, Hospitalized In Bergen County Crash A 52-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized in a Bergen County crash Saturday, Oct. 8, authorities said. The woman was struck by a car on Broad Avenue at Probst Avenue in Fairview when she was struck by a car around 12:20 p.m., Chief David Brennan said.  The motorcyclist was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with unknown injuries. The road was closed as firefighters dried fluids that spilled on the roadway, the chief said.

Speeding Jeep That Killed North Jersey Bar Patron Abandoned Half-Mile From Crash Scene A speeding Jeep that struck and killed a 31-year-old man leaving an Elizabeth bar was abandoned about half-a-mile from the crash scene overnight, authorities said. The Jeep was apparently speeding toward Newark when it struck the victim near 844 Newark Ave., as he was leaving Nugents Tavern, Elizabeth police said. The vehicle's plates were removed, but a VIN search indicates the owner is a Newark resident. Police were in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the Jeep, which will be towed to the city's secure bay.
