Virginia Military Aide Brings Gun To White House: Report A 54-year-old military aide from Virginia was arrested after US Secret Service found a loaded and unregistered firearm in his bag during a security check, the Washington Post reports. Patrick James Tansey works at the White House and is allowed on the grounds but is not authorized to be armed, a Secret Service spokesman told the outlet. Records show Tansey is from Manassas. A hearing was set for Oct. 5, and Tansey was freed. His lawyer declined comment to the Washington Post and it wasn't immediately clear which military branch he was assigned to. Victim Slashed In Jersey City Business Deal Gone Bad: Police A 19-year-old man slash another man's face in what police are calling a "business deal gone wrong" in Jersey City. Eslam Abouzaid began arguing around 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 on Bramhall Avenue, a city spokesperson said. That's when Abouzaid took out a knife and cut the victim, who he knew. The victim's injuries were treated at the Jersey City Medical Center and Abouzaid was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Killer Who Carried Out 'Atrocious' Attacks On DC's Homeless Indicted On 17 Charges: Feds The man who went on a shooting spree targeting homeless populations in Washington DC and New York City last march has been indicted on 17 charges including first-degree murder, federal officials said. Inmate In Coma After Being Brutally Stomped By Another In Atlantic County A 42-year-old inmate at the Atlantic County Justice Facility remains in a coma after he was brutally stomped by a 26-year-old inmate last week, according to authorities and various news reports. Sex Offender Charged With Desecration Of Human Remains In Hudson County Homicide Investigation A 39-year-old registered sex offender has been charged with disturbing human remains in connection with the homicide investigation of a 34-year-old Kearny man this week, authorities said.
